Welcome to Community Health Sciences

 
The Community Health Sciences are a set of disciplines (including biostatistics, epidemiology, health services, preventive medicine and public health) dedicated to solving problems in the prevention and treatment of disease and injury borne by groups of people.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Community Health Sciences is to promote through teaching, research and consultation, the effective, efficient and just delivery of services which will improve the health of the community.

On December 18, 2008, NEOUCOM and the Department of Community Health Sciences hosted a Community Health Care Discussion as part of the efforts by President-Elect Obama's transition team to include grass-roots community input on the issue of health care reform.  Over 30 people attended this session, which was held in the Harry Meshel Auditorium and was streamed by live video over the internet.  The stream video may be viewed at the following link: Video
