The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology is committed to excellence in education, research, and service to our institution, our region and state, and the broader biomedical community.

Research and Graduate Education
The department is beginning a period of substantial expansion of its strengths in the focused areas of Skeletal Biology (Evolutionary Biology, Biology of Bone and Joints) and Neuroscience (Auditory Neuroscience, Neurochemistry and Neurodegeneration). Each focus area emphasizes a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to graduate and postdoctoral training.

Health Professions Courses
Members of our faculty have primary teaching responsibilities in courses offered during the first year of medical and pharmacy professional education: Human Development and Structure, Human Structure for Pharmacy, and Brain Mind and Behavior. We also contribute to teaching throughout the medical curriculum.

Departmental faculty are active in service to NEOUCOM and beyond, contributing to biomedical and scientific education in northeastern Ohio and consulting on scientific issues at the national and international levels.
